Language and humanities study paths in secondary schools offer diverse and general theoretical studies with an emphasis on language, humanities and culture, among other things in relation to international relations and tourism.
The program ends with a matriculation examination.

Requirements

Admission requirements can vary somewhat depending on the school and it is advisable to check them on the websites of each individual school. Students must, however, have completed compulsory school with a certain minimum grade in the core subjects of Icelandic, Danish, English and mathematics.

Curriculum

Studies in language and humanities study paths are mostly theoretical and are usually divided into core and elective subjects so that the studies can be adapted to certain needs or areas of interest, but it is always important to plan the choice with regard to university entrance criteria.
Teaching and learning methods can vary, but in most cases emphasis is placed on two foreign languages in addition to English and Nordic languages and/or specialization in subjects related to other humanities.
